At this stage in the game, you already know that “content is king.” The question now becomes: How can you maximize your content marketing resources to receive the highest return on investment?
We’re here to please. In the next three posts, you’ll discover 15 secrets to content marketing success (and longevity) that will help your company to be heard above the noise. Ready? Here are the first 5.
- Find Your Voice. All the top content creators have a distinct voice. A voice that’s unique to their brand. They don’t resort, by default, to a buttoned up corporate tone. Find the voice that authentically represents your organization and speaks to your customers in a way they can relate to.
- Have Fun. If you’re not having fun developing your content, you’re doing it all wrong. If you’re not enjoying the process of creating it, your customers won’t have fun reading it. If you see creating highly engaging content about your organization as a chore, change your mindset. Remember why you love what you do and what your brand represents and communicate that to your audience.
- Get to Know Your Audience. It’s important to learn the personalities of your customers and prospects. Where do they go to look for information? What tradeshows and events do they attend? How do they talk about your products and other products like it? Knowing the answers to these questions will help you to better communicate with them.
- Figure Out What They Need. Take time to get to know what your customers need and how you can serve those needs. Once you understand the role you play in their business, all of the other elements will follow.
- Be in All the Right Places. Where are your customers hanging out online? Use that knowledge to figure out where you should be investing your content marketing resources. Don’t waste time and money creating profiles for Facebook or Twitter if your prospects are not actively using those channels.
